Yesterday

pet peeve the "hooker" virus that keeps re-infecting my computer so many times i'm paranoid it is made by mcaffee so that i will become dependent on their services
obsession du jour javier bardem
to do find writings by reinaldo arenas (bandwagonesque, i know and late bandwagonesque at that too)and re-read the thief's journal
ponder is it that i can't get a job or that i won't get a job?
sports team du jour the nets, again
sounds please no one play or request enrique iglesias' "hero" anymore--i can't go anywhere without that song following me
film before night falls--a completely defiantly heartbreaking and visually stunning masterpiece of a film by one of the worlds crappiest painters
tv i am totally hooked on reruns of 7th heaven
book flipping thru carson mccullers and rem koolhaas
objet d'art on display somewhere for a good chuckle the notes on painting special feature of before night falls is worth a few
food coconut taffy
beverage i ran out of diet coke! someone declare a national emergency!
people who die squished between a van and a bus should be granted an express trip to heaven or nirvana or whatever--what a crappy way to die
random additions or subtractions from any or all of the above of the many things i was thinking about when i was watching before night falls (the role of art in a revolution, the lack of sexual freedoms under castro, the need for revolutionary politics to be explicitly liberatory for all types of sexualities and genders)...the thing that i was obsessed with the most was the way that the main character orchestrated his own death and how that seemed sort of false cuz i am totally fixated on mortality and the ultimate end and it seems more and more like death is the one thing that we think we hold within our own hands, but yet it always seems that it never really works out exactly as planned and so that control is all just one big lie we tell ourselves when we need to think of the world at large as completely within our power to direct...or something...

many thanks to my friend at Nerdslut for allowing me to rip her off
and to the starmeister for telling frontpage is not scary
